Bible WOD: "Eternally Rich"

Luke 2:6-7

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

As we approach Christmas, I think its appropriate to reflect back on the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ and what His purpose was. God knew we needed a savior and He provided us with one. God became a man to suffer on the cross for our sins... past, present, and future. As we live our lives, we have trials, troubles, suffering and other bad things that happen that make us question God. We find ourselves saying things like.. "Why God, did you let this happen to me? I'm a good person! I don't deserve this!" The problem is we forget what God has already done for us. Christ came into this world as a poor man to suffer OUR hell to make us eternally rich. If a poor man in this world has Christ then he is rich! He may not be rich as society sees but he has eternal life and a relationship with God, thanks to what Christ did for us. How much more could we ask for!? Scripture tells as that God works things out for the good of those who love him. (Romans 8:28) Shouldn't we put our faith and trust in Him? If a person does not have Christ and rejects Him then they are condemned. They could be the richest person on this earth and be eternally poor. Their riches are just temporary things that will get them just about anything they want in this lifetime but those riches will eventually cease to exist. Wouldn't you much rather have a richness that lasts forever? The good news is, you can... Thanks to Christ, we can now be eternally rich. If you haven't accepted Christ as your savior my question to you is, Why? Have you ever taken time to ask yourself what is after this life? We know this life will eventually end. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually. We are never guaranteed another day so that's why scripture says....

2 Corinthians 6:2
For he says,
“In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you.”
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

It says NOW is the day of salvation.

Ask yourself "If I were to die now, where would I go?"
